The explanation I read somewhere was
Router backs up time using the latest modified file in /etc (could be up to 60 seconds ago)
Reboots
Restores time from backup
Before ntdp has time to load and fix the time, clock ticks over to reboot time again and the process repeats forever.

A solution suggested was using a time from a file in /etc and adding 10 minutes to it.
I only mention this because not everyone has a bwmon folder (ok all gargoyles should) but everyone has /etc

Does this build fix the slow throughput issue with the official 1.7.1 firmware? :)

Solutions:

1. Downgrade to 1.6.2, before the conntrack cache was disabled
2. Manually patch or recompile 1.7.1 with conntrack cache enabled
3. Stick with 1.7.1 and disable bwmon to regain *some* speed (basically kills the purpose of Gargoyle)
4. Move away from Gargoyle onto the latest Chaos Calmer Openwrt version which had conntrack cache enabled
5. Wait for chaos calmer to go full release, and for gargoyle to catch up.

Can I downgrade directly from this build to 1.6.2 via Web GUI? Thanks a lot in advance!

Thanks! I did this but having issue now with my WDR3600 v1.5

Before downgrading, I reseted to default setting but it took so long (more than 10 minutes) that I had to quit IE. I re-log in using chrome. Everything was fine

I went ahead replacing 1.7.1 with 1.6.2 without preserving settings. Web browser keeps telling me: Upgrading, Please Wait and it has been 20 mins since I started downgrading.

Now on the router, two left most lights are stable and the light corresponding to the LAN port that connected to my laptop is blinking once in a while.

Should I continue to wait? Did I just brick my router?

Any help would be appreciated!
