First post - but been with Gargoyle for years.
Just had to unbrick my Archer C5. Now flashed with 1.8.1
i am trying to set up a connected host at DHCP / connected host.
The "Select Host name / Mac From Currently Connect Devices" is greyed out and I cant pull down the host I have connected wirelessly - a lap top.
Feel I must have missed something in set up. Any clues on what i need to do to bring up teh list of Connected hosts on the Connection / DHCP tab?

That nearly did it but not quite.
I had a ethernet cable between laptop and router and did the upgrade. With cable connected i could see my laptop in the DHCP drop down list so it all looked good at that point.
Then I powered off the router, disconnected the ethernet cable, connected my internet Ethernet cable to the bavk of the router and rebooted.
My laptop connects wireless to router but again I cant see it in the DHCP drop down list - that area is grayed out like the original problem.
Connecting laptop to router by ethernet doesn't fix it either

Whilst this is an inconvenience that the feature isn't working as intended, can't you just add the entry manually?

Thanks Lantis. Manual entry may work - but I have 20 devices i want to attach. However seems I've fixed the problem.
I did have my internet cable cascading off another router and it was plugged into a lan port on the back of the Archer. As I recall it didn't like being plugged into the blue internet port. I also had a cable from the back of the Archer router going to a blu ray player with internet capability
SUMMARY OF PROBLEM
I dont think the router likes cables plugged into the yellow LAN ports.
FIX
- So what I have done now is put the internet cable into the internet port and removed all LAN cables.
- Internet / WAN connection is "DHCP Wired (I did have it on pppOe Wired) .
- Connection / DHCP / DHCP tab is set to a tick in the "LAN DHCP Server Enabled"box
- DHCP range is set to 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.249 (not sure if that will cause problems as I recall I have some devices with an IP less than .100. But I think I'll figure that out)
- Essentially anything connected to this router now will have to be wireless.
- But I now have wireless internet; I now have status reports in the Status Tabs (they weren't there before either) and I can now put rules against each connected device. Also the internet and 2.5 (flashing) and 5 GHz (solid on) lights are showing on the router (they werent before). System light is solid on.
Hurray - back to why i love Gargoyle!
Disc: I'm not an IT geek and dont know what I am doing. All a bit trial and error. Thanks for your help
