I have a range of ip addresses that i want to block all gaming network traffic to/from.
Idealy the only thing that should work would be web browsing.

I tried allowing only ports 80 443 and 53 through but google would not work.
I tried allowing only http protocol through but no good as well.
(Ie block all then white list allowed services/ports)

I want to block all gaming traffic and programs like steam, origin etc

Can anyone suggest a configuration that might work?

Hi mate you can do this but I am not sure how to go about it. I have never tried. If some one else mite chime in with a fix but until then give open DNS a look i use it to block a lot of things from my kids.

This is a very old thread but I implemented a way to do this.
It allows my son access to email, ftp, http & https but successfully blocks 99% of online gaming including steam (and steam messager)

To do this set up two separate access restrictions for your particular ip address range.
1) Under "Transport Protocol" set it to block UDP. (All others as set as Block All)
2) Under "Remote Port" enter the range 444-49150 (all others set as Block All)

This will effectively only allow TCP ports 1-443 and will block all UDP ports.
