QoS Scheduling

I'm trying to solve some QoS issues, my current router, Netgear WNDR3700v1 stock, is not able to solve this. I'm thinking of trying Gargoyle, but want to get some input if this is possible first.
I work from home, and need to have my VPN connection has high priority during the day. In the evening my wife needs her computer to be priority, at that time, I'm already done with work. However my VPN device remains connected, and produces bandwidth spikes at times (you know all the chatty network programs corporations put on their laptops), which saturates my ISP connection (only 3mbps down / 0.5mbps up). Current QoS shuts down everything else, due to my VPN having priority.
I want to have a schedule so my VPN is high priority when I need it, and bulk when I don't.
QoS goals
VPN device (ID by MAC) to have priority during 4Am to 4Pm
wife's PC (ID by MAC) to have priority during 4Pm to midnight
XBox (ID by MAC) to have be second priority
VPN device (ID by MAC) to bulk during 4Pm to 2Am
