Repeater Help, WD My Net N600

Here's what I have;

Time Warner Aaris TG1672/ WD My Net N600

Here's what I wanna do; N600 as wireless repeater

Gargoyle is flashed onto the N600, set to repeater. I'm guessing there are settings I have to sync up on the Aaris? I can build pc's, but the networking stuff hurts my brain if you can simplify. I've googled but there's a lotta variables not explained with my specific situation. Many thanks.

set the n600 to Wireless Bridge/Repeater

if your Aaris TG1672/ is on a IP of 192.168.1.1 then set the n600 to under Bridge IP: 192.168.2.1
and were it says AP/Gateway IP: put 192.168.1.1
set them both to same SSID and same password

In the latest 1.9.X the IP needs to be on a separate subnet.

This alternate subnet becomes a dummy IP range which relays traffic to the clients.

OK i see now I just found out that i cant logon to the user interface with my IPs set like i have them. lol Does it have to be like this as openwrt and ddwrt have bridges on the same subnet?

Openwrt employs the same method I'm using.
The clients end up on the same subnet. It's only the router itself which doesn't. I've set it up so that it creates a mapping to the router on the subnet as well though.

Thanks guys, will update later after I try. I did something wrong and only my main pc is connecting. I have a media center pc in living room, son and daughter each have one upstairs that are all offline. I should be able to do this without running a cable into the N600, right? I don't have enough cabling atm.

Okay I got it working for a minute. I set my ip as directions said to 192.168.1.10 - default subnet mask - gateway 192.168.0.1 (Aaris default gateway and ip). From the dropdown box in Gargoyle menu I chose the Aaris 5g connection. Set router to repeater, ssid join to my network name, ssid broadcast "Gargoyle".

I moved the repeater to the back bathroom. The power light is on but wifi light is not. Its not broadcasting? It shows up to connect to but no bars in my phone.

UPDATE; I figured maybe the problem was it couldn't relay a 5g connection. I switched it to the 2.4 band on the TW router. Left everything else the same. Shows up in networks, but I join and get the spinning wheel with no bars. I don't wanna have to try a diffferent firmware, but will if I have to. The one I downloaded was 1.9.0-ar71xx.
