DD-WRT Mega -> Gargoyle (WRT54G-TM)

Howdy!

I have a Linksys WRT54G-TM router (the 8/32 meg version of the 54g) which is a fantastic bit of kit. It's flashed with DD-Wrt mega, and frankly is works quite well.

That said, I would like to move over to Gargoyle... any ideas if I can just click on the update firmware optinon in DD-Wrt mega, and point it at a gargoyle packet?

Or should I kill it first, then start from scratch?

Thanks!
M.

I thought I would take a jump and try...

Downloaded the .trx file, renamed it to .bin (DD-WRT wont accept .trx)... and crossed my fingers and toes as I clicked on upload.....

Flashed, and it seems to work now! So much better than DD-WRT!

The WRT54G-TM is a GREAT router to experiment with.

It is very simple to flash via the GUI back and forth between
Gargoyle and DD-WRT. BUT - there is a BUT!

You have to flash less than 4 MB files!

You cannot flash the MEGA build from Gargoyle

Has to be Standard or Mini builds only

Once DD-WRT is flashed back on, you can re-flash the mega build

If you decide to go back - if not - welcome to Gargoyle!
