Hi,i was very excited when i saw that tplink 741nd is now supported(v1) in release 1.35,I hurried over,grabbed the file,and flashed from tplink gui...flash was succesfull,no errors,device restarted..and nothing...

pwr led is lit solid,and ethernet cable led lit,depending on which one has been plugged in.i should be able to get it on 192.168.1.1 correct?

any help appreciated..just hope its not time for a serial flash/recovery again.

be warned 1.35 released for tl-741nd(tplink) will brick your router if flashed from tplink gui,maybe there is another way of doing it?But anyways i recoverd it via serial console(soldered onto router board) flash

I've actually tried with this router, and it works fine.

Maybe you used the sysupgrade file instead of the file required to flash from factory firmware? That would cause the problems you describe.

My guess is that you need this file - gargoyle_1.3.5-ar71xx-tl-wr741nd-v1-squashfs-factory.bin

second file
gargoyle_1.3.5-ar71xx-tl-wr741nd-v1-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin is for "system upgrade" from already existing installation.

Bfore going further, make sure that your WR741ND is indeed v1. Hardware may be different form one release of particular model to another.

hey,Eric,it says v1.9 n back of unit.

That makes a big difference. Version 1.9 is not supported by Gargoyle 1.3.5, but it should work with Gargoyle 1.3.6.

There was a very recent patch to OpenWrt which allows v1.9 support, which is in the new 1.3.6 (just released), but wasn't available for 1.3.5.
