Hi all,
After successfully running 1.7.1 on my Archer C7 V2 for a while, I thought I'd sysupgrade to 1.8.1 to get 5GHz running. I've done the upgrade, preserving settings, and everything looked like it came up right, all the settings are still there, but the wireless shows disabled on the summary page. On the basic connection page, everything seems to be setup correctly, but I cannot seem to get the wireless enabled. Help would be appreciated.

Try flashing again without preserving or restoring settings. 1.8 page says to not preserve or restore settings from anything from 1.7.2 or back.

OK, that worked.
I then restored my backup, and everything seems to be working . . . except I can't get to the admin screen.

Found the failsafe wiki. Trying firstboot

Well, there's something to remember. Don't do firstboot with a media drive plugged in. It erased everything. Can that be added to the wiki?

The wiki is editable by anyone.

Also make sure you don't restore your backup again. That's the equivalent to preserving settings and is incompatible between those two versions.

Yeah, I figured that out.

I just have a large DHCP MAC table and a large whitelist.

I'm getting it back together.

I also have backups of almost everything that was on the media drive.
