I flashed on 1.3.5 and all was fine but i couldnt connect to the wireless. I changed to 1.3.4 to test and i cannot connect to wireless either but now i cannot get into the router to factory reset it. All the lan ports is limited or no connectivity. I only set it up as a access point and the wan port to bridge with lan.
Any ideas how to recover the device?

Seems like the WRT54 is still connecting to another wireless access point and is passing on that APs Ip.
So i cannot see that gargoyle web gui ip nor do i know the range (i set it as 192.168.3.1 but that doesnt work). I have tried using a static ip and have tried 30/30/30 to no aval

2. I setup a computer with a static ip of 192.168.1.10 subnet 255.255.255.0 and gateway ip 192.168.1.1

I have successfully reflashed to the linksys firmware.
I pressed the reset button when starting up the linksys so the power+dmz flashes.
Then i set static ip of 192.168.1.x and gateway of 192.168.1.1
I telnet into 192.168.1.1 i type "mtd erase linux" the reboot.
I downloaded the firmware from linksys website, downloaded tftp2.exe (put server as 192.168.1.1 and pointed to firmware) then i unplugged the power then plugged back in. When i plug the power back in i click upgrade on tftp2.exe.
The successfully flashed back

Hi Eric, sorry for all the posts.
I installed 1.3.5 on a WRT54G V3.1. I put it in gateway mode and have set lan ip to 192.168.5.1. I connect to a AP here in the office then set the gargoyle AP (Client + AP mode). I use WPA PSK but for the life of me i cannot connect. I tried with no security / WPA/WPA2 nothing seems to work.
The gargoyle AP shows up fine, i try to join it asks for a password but it just doesnt connect.

See that thread
Possibly related to the Broadcom Client + AP issues
Not sure if this has been fixed yet in the new Backfire releases
You may need to re-configure or re-arrange
Maybe just use router as wireless bridge for now?
You also have this post going:

-----------------------
1) Try and restore defaults or re-flash fresh 1.3.5 and do some
VERY BASIC config, not AP+Client, just AP or Client and see if
you can get it working like that.
2) Once you get #1 working, then switch to Client + AP mode
If Client + AP mode fails - it may still need work.
