Router loses setting when unplugged

Hello,
I am running Gargoyle v1.8.1 on a TL-WDR4300 by TP-Link. The router loses config settings when unplugged and plugged back in. My wife is not technically savvy at all and this is how she troubleshoots devices when she loses Wi-Fi.

Gargoyle seems to run on a Linux based OS. Is there a script that I can run that would restore config settings each time the router boots?

My plan is to store the most recent config settings back-up on the router so that that script has access to these settings on every boot.

It would be better to figure out and fix why this is happening instead.
Have you tried flashing a later firmware version or factory resetting the current one?

If you still want to go down your original path you'll need to use CRON and either the built in backups function or just grab things from /etc and /etc/config.

Is there a more up to date stable version than v1.8.1?

Stable is a subjective word lol.
If you're having this problem then is 1.8.1 really "stable".

The latest code is 1.9.X, it's labelled as experimental, however we don't get many bug reports from it.

Your choice, you can always go back and forth between them, just don't save your settings between. They are incompatible version changes.
