Hello

I think I have found a bug.

Router =WRT 1900ac V2
firmware =this one
Wifi is only the 2.4ghz, no 5 Ghz radio enabled

I have mac address allocated to ip addresses

I have 2 mac addressed on a Quota

I have the rest (ip addresses) on another quota.

I have a restriction on the first 2 ip address (same as quota). When I turn on this restriction ON to restrict all access to firewall for the 2 ip addresses the radio indicator on the router goes off. The router web page says everything is working. Users can see the router but the WPA2 password does not work. "incorrect password" from the devices.

to get the Wifi to work again I need to turn the restriction off and restart the router.

Don't know why the radio turns off when the restriction comes into force!!!!

No QOS rules.

When this restriction is activated, the wifi is disabled.

Just something to look at maybe??????

Can you please replicate this issue, and then provide the system logs from "logread"?

Hi Lantis,

I'm very new at this.

Where do I find the logs and how do I get there.

I am glad to help.

I only use the web interface at the moment.

If it is somewhere else, please run me through.

I will make try and make the error happen now. I will be off line until I get the fault to happen again.

be back soon with a report!!!!

bye for now

Hello again

The fault only seems to occur when the radio 2.4Ghz is set to B+G.

When 2.4Ghz is Set to B+G+N the it does seem to happen.

I Will go off line and try some more different variations..

Chat soon

Shouldn't do this half cut!

To access the system logs you'll need to log into the router using SSH.
I suggest using a program like PuTTY.exe if you're on Windows.

Connect to the router IP. Username "root", password is the same one you use to log into the web interface.

Once you get in just type "logread" and hit enter. Then copy paste.
The log is a limited length, so that is why it is important to replicate the error and then view the log.
It may or may not reveal the problem. The wireless N thing intrigues me.

Hi

I have a bigger problem now.

I have been changing settings, saving and then powering done the router.

restarting a couple of time and now a big problem.

My problem is now the router is not saving any settings even though I am pressing the save button, logging out and then restarting the router.

What have I done.

The router has forgotten everything after a hard reset and when you put the "password" in is says you are using the router for the first time.

I am going to turn everything off at the power point and try tomorrow.

Hoping it will work. Will check after 1500 AEST Saturday.

I will get back to you.
