Hi all.
I am looking buy a new router. Now I have TL-WR741ND v4 with gargoyle but this router sucks. It has a very bad performance (the router, not gargoyle). I need use QoS.
The WR741ND freezes and make me lag on games.

I really like Gargoyle and I am looking to a new router with dual-band support. I live in an appartment and there are too much WiFi interference so the 5GHz band will help me a lot.

I looked this page http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/dok ... ed_routers and the best router that I can buy is TL-WDR3600.

Is there any other router that is not listed that you recommend me? Do you recommend me that router? Does it support dual band?

Archer C2 AC750 supports gargoyle and is better than TL-WDR3600?

Sorry for my bad english and thanks.

----------

Maybe I will buy too a new wireless adapter (now I've TL-WN851ND, it's a shit).
Have you tried TL-WDN3200 or TL-WDN4800? Do you recommend me any of those?

Greetings from Argentina

I am very happy with my TL-WDR3600.
Also there has been some positive chatter in the forums lately about the Linksys wrt1900ac

I also am very happy with my TL-WDR3600. Fast too...

My Archer C7 is working great, behind a DSL modem. First I had it behind a SatModem, but it was TROUBLE to get working with the SatModem. It may have been me, but it took all day to get nowhere...

I vote for the WDR3600

The LINKSYS wrt1900ac looks amazing, but I think the drivers for OpenWRT and Gargoyle are still in dev. One to watch maybe..

Hi

I currently have a netgear 3700 which is OK but I feel it's WiFi performance could be better. Range is OK but my pc which the signal has to go through a couple of brick walls has spikes of very poor throughput.

My question on the back of this thread. Is the c7 much better than the wdr 3600 for 2.4ghz range or is the difference not worth worrying about. I can't see In my house the 5ghz range being that useful.

Any views on whether I will I see an improvement over my netgear

** Purchased a C7 off ebay so should be able to give my view on the C7 performance against the 3700 by next weekend :)

Many thanks

The C7 has more aerials + data streams, (3x3) compared to the 3600 (2x2). I would suggest from casual use that the C7 has better range and signal.

As for data speed, a lot depends whether your connected devices support 3 concurrent streams or not. In real terms, I would pick the C7 (v2) as having faster hardware.

Whether it beats your wndr3700, I don't know. That's a pretty popular device in it's own right. Sorry not to be more helpful!

Thanks James, well the C7 is incoming, not sure if it will be a v1 or v2 but reading about it both should be ok. I think it is a step up from the 3700 but i'll be able to post in here on my experiences.

Still debating whether I put gargoyle on it or run it with the tplink firmware. The likelihood is I will have to put gargoye on for the QOS as I have quite slow internet but i'll try it first without to see what its like without that
