wa850RE- cant connect to web UI

so I'm trying to set up the tplink wa850re repeater. I install gargoyle, and tried to connect it to my router but when I pressed scan no wireless networks were found even though there are wireless networks.
I then proceeded and changed the bridge IP and AP/gateway IP to my routers IP (10.0.0.1) and to an IP of my choice for the repeater (10.0.0.2). After that I pressed scan again and again no networks found. So i thought maybe If I restart the repeater it will work. I saved the settings and restart and now I cant connect to the repeater at all.

I using an ethernet cable to connect, tried both the factory IP (192.168.1.1) and the IP I set (10.0.0.2) and none work. on the factory IP though I can see the gargoyle logo appear at the tab of my browser.
I also did an ip config and I get some weird IP on my ethernet (169.254.153.59) and a 255.255.0.0 subnet mask. I tried that IP too and it didnt work. tried resetting from the button underneath the repeater didnt work. All the leds light up, and the repeater seems to boot fine. but still I cant connect to the web UI and set it up.

try setting a static IP on your computer in bridge - repeater mode the router trys to get dhcp from the mane gateway. If it cant get a ip from the gateway then you need to set your devices to a static ip.

I did that and now I can connect using the IP I had set (10.0.0.2) but when I try to connect the repeater to my router pressing the scan button, still it says no wireless networks found. even though I can see from my laptop and smartphone my routers AP and another repeater I have.

1.8.1 should be fine.

What happens if instead of scanning uou manually enter the details?

I'd need to see an error console from your browser and a logread from the router to diagnose the lack of scanning.

these are my settings. I have entered my routers IP and SSID and password. I save the settings and I can't see the repeater's SSID at all. I'm currently connected to it via ethernet and doing the set up. its like the wireless is turned off? I don't know. From what I understand the repeater hasn't even tried to connect to the router even after I save the settings.

How can I provide the stuff you requested?

In most browsers F12 brings up the developer console.

Logread needs to be run at an SSH terminal on the router.

is this what you want?

As for the logread I don't really know how to do that. my router is a netgear r7000

Hi bad news Both wireless radios are unsupported (no FOSS driver support).

https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/netgear/r7000

witch miens that Netgear did not opensource the drivers for the wifi. Sorry but there is not a thing that can be dun about it.
