How to install the adblock plugin

I'm in over my head here. Don't normally live in this world but I'm enticed by the Lantis's adblock plugin. Running 1.8.1 on a TPlink router purchased at the Gargoyle store.

Tried to follow the links provided in the firmware but could not locate the script. Googled for it and found it here: https://github.com/lantis1008/gargoyle-plugin-adblock.

I presume to:
1) Click on the "Makefile" link on that page and copy the script to a file.
2) Shell in to the router (never done that but I can likely figure it out)
3) Then follow the steps indicated at this link for a generic OpenWRT install https://gist.github.com/teffalump/7227752, which starts with:
# scp adblock.sh root@192.168.1.1:/etc/adblock.sh
# chmod +x /etc/adblock.sh

etc.

Can someone confirm please if I'm on the right track. Much thanx

Log in to your router, select System->Plugins.
Hit Refresh at the bottom of the page.
Install "DNS Adblocking Support for Gargoyle".

Then go to Firewall->Adblock
And enable it.

:)

Seems simple. But after clicking "Refresh Plugins" (twice) I see no reference to "DNS Adblocking Support for Gargoyle", not any way to add any plugin except by specifying the name and URL.

[trying to add screen shot to demonstrate but the board is telling me the attachment quota has been reached].

I might be in a time warp or something...

The last time someone experienced similar, they didn't have an Internet connection for their gargoyle. You need the Internet coming through the WAN.

Can you show us a picture of the router status page?

Also you'll need to use an external image host like "Imgur" and then link the images to here.

Yep. And that's what it was this time.

I knew I was doing something stupid, it was just a question of what. ;>

Nice plugin by the way. Thanx for that...

Hey @Lantis - wondering if it is easy to pop up a suggestion to "check internet connection" in the GUI when a Refresh Plugins does not deliver?

P.S. Oh and that Refresh Plugins button would be better at the top (there was someone that missed it the other day looking for the TOR plugin)

Might even be easy enough for me to do!?

Not a bad suggestion.
