Archer C7 install issue

I am attempting to install gargoyle_1.8.0-ar71xx-generic-archer-c7-v2-squashfs-factory.bin on brand new Archer C7 v2. The firmware installed fine and I am able to login to the router and configure. I have it configured to use wired DHCP to receive an IP address from my cable modem but it never gets an IP address. Cycled everything multiple times with no success. I tried cloning the MAC address of my old router just thinking that perhaps the cable modem had affinity to that address. Again no success. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

I can't add attachments. I can however tell you that only WAN MAC ADDRESS has data. All of the other WAN fields have a dash to represent no data.
nworbnhoj thanks for the suggestion but I don't currently have a modem router combination. I have a WNDR3700 that I would like to replace with the Archer C7.

What I mean to say is that in the Basic configuration page I have "Connect Via:" set to "DHCP (Wired)". My router should get an IP address from the cable modem dynamically.

Regarding the IP range of my modem...
It is in the 173.xxx.xxx.xxx range. I don't want to get too specific.

That picture is a thousand words

Your router does not have a internet connection
The internet must be plugging into the WAN port of your router
