problem with Huawei 3G/4G LTE USB Wingle
Posted: Tue Oct 20, 2015 4:08 am
Hi,
I have a TP-Link router running 1.8.0 and I am able to successfully connect using either a Sierra Wireless or earlier model Huawei 3G stick.
I am currently trying to test a new Huawei E8372 LTE Wingle without much luck.
After doing some reading I configured rc.local to detect the device using the tips on this page http://www.byza.it/blog/144/%5BHW%5D+Co ... yle+Router
The vendor and product codes for this device are 12d1 14db
The router now gives me the 3G/4G options as expected, however it does not show signal strength on the status page and checking logread and dmesg shows it fails to dial.
Has anyone been able to get a similar device to work?
I am unsure as to what the next trouble shooting steps should be.
The URL I linked above talks about reimaging the USB Wingle but I am not sure if this is required as the router can actually see it.
