Current Date and Time Archer C7

Hi everybody, I'm based in Germany and using Gargoyle 1.8.0 on a TP-LINK Archer C7 AC1750 V1.1 to limit my kid's internet usage by quotas. Due to a bad supply via DSL I have to use a Speedport II LTE Router for the internet connection via 3G/4G. The volume of this tariff is restricted an so I'm using this Speedport II LTE Router for the connectin to the internet and the Archer C7 for limitation of quotas. So far, so good.

My problem is, that the current time on the Archer C7 never updates. I have tried to reboot, the time remains unchanged. What might be the problem, that there is not connection to the NTP servers or for what othe reason there is no update to current time?

Thanks for your support
Stephan

Just double checking your archer is connected via the WAN port?

You could try running /etc/init.d/system restart to trigger the time update.

Hello Lantis,
Just double checking your archer is connected via the WAN port?
Thank you for your quick response. I'm not so familiar with network issues. I'm not shure what you mean. Physical there is a LAN connection to the Speedport II LTE. For details regarding WAN I tried to upload a screenshot, but I recieved a message:" Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached."
You could try running /etc/init.d/system restart to trigger the time update.
Where can I find an instruction how to run this app?

Regards,
Stephan

You need a physical connection between a LAN port on the Speedport II LTE Router to the WAN port on your Gargoyle router.

Hello ispyisail,

here are the screenshots.

With this config I have no problems with internet access. Everything is fine, just no current time and thus no control of quota.

When using the config nworbnhoj has linked to

I have no internet access and even no access to my Speedport Router.

Thanks to all for your support so far.

The explanation is that your router doesn't have an Internet connection for itself. It can only do that by using the WAN port.

The way you currently have it set up limits gargoyles features.

I have tried to configure the Gargoyle and the speedport router for WAN connection exactly the way described in the link
Without any success. No Internet, no access to speedport, just access to Gargoyle.

Does the speedport support WAN connection?
