Cloud Push Messages Plugin + Apps

Something I thinking about doing is cloud based messaging from router to chrome/android/ios application Im thinking about making. I wanted to know what people thought to judge if it should take take to finishing this wonderful idea or not.
Seeing as people are interested so much in email notifications, this may be a better route.
Actually, should be surprisingly easy to add to gargoyle considering the ease of use which is required.

Think of email notification, without the email. + a small free app for iOS and Android to receive the messages from your router. The service from google is free and I would provide the free apps for both platforms. Could maybe also make Mac OS,Linux and Windows, clients also.
Example of what it current looks like in chrome(which as easiest to test in):

I already have a working Mac OSX app working on sending messages to chrome browser which is the only browser which supports the web push notifications currently.
