Hi, I installed 1.5.9 a while ago on my TP-link wdr 4300. And I was trying to update to 1.8.0 by downloading gargoyle_1.8.0-ar71xx-generic-tl-wdr4300-v1-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin. Using the gargoyle router management utility. It's been showing "Upgrading, Please Wait." for 3 hours. Is it normal?? Please kindly assist, thank you very much.

Hi mate that is not normal. If it had worked it wood of dun now. Some times the web browser mite not refresh so try and close the page and then log back on and see what it says at the top of the status page.

If it stil says 1.5 then try again dont save settings. If you save your config from 1.5 to 1.8 you will have to do a first boot.

Can you try and do a fail safe reset?
http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/generic.failsafe

Did you attempt to preserve settings?

If you can get in to fail safe mode then you will need to have your Ethernet kayble plugged in to the lan port and not the wan. When you get telnet up and running then type firstboot and it will reset all your settings.
