I'm plan to get new router and i think TP-link archer c5 and c7 is look good so i need some suggestion

My requirement
-Wireless for gaming
-Gigabit lan port
-5 GHZ wireless
So i wonder is it worth to get archer c7 or just get c5 my laptop is near the router but as my house area full with wireless 2.4 GHZ which make all channel full and my wireless is not stable like before so I'm plan to use 5GHZ wireless as my laptop support.

Other question is does the gargoyle 1.8.0 work with 5 GHZ wireless ? As i'm very happy with gargoyle on my wr941nd and w901nd.

Ok, Thank you i got C7 but i wonder does 5 GHZ wireless work with Gargoyle. Since in my house area it really crowd with 2.4 GHZ wireless

I confirm 5GHz wireless works with C7, that is what I have. With Gargoyle 1.8.0, it works out-of-the-box. With 1.7.1 it works if you manually install the ath10k kernel module and perform some other manual settings, see http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... 5&start=20 for how I did it.
