Gargoyle SMTP Relay?

I have a device on my home network (a Canon ScanFront scanner) which only knows how to send email (with PDF scans attached) unencrypted via port 25. I would like to somehow relay these emails to smtp.gmail.com:587 using TLS and my gmail credentials.
I've searched these forums for "smtp relay" and haven't found anything.
Are there any Howto-type documents for doing this, using something like postfix or esmtp? I would want Gargoyle to only accept SMTP/25 requests from my LAN and only from the IP of the scanner. Then it would forward the email to smtp.gmail.com:587 using TLS.
