Can't login to web interface

I manage to install the 1.2.4 firmware on a wrt54gl. After changing a few settings related to web access I cant seem to login via http or https. I can login via ssh. I did try flushing iptables and also editing the firewall config to get access but yet no luck. Is there anyway i can reset the settings via ssh or upgrade the firmware and reset all settings via ssh?
How do I go about with this problem?

If it's not acting right and you can't get into the GUI, best thing
is to start over from scratch.
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_WRT54GL
You can use that page if you need assistance.
Also
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Re ... _Bad_Flash
do the recover from a bad flash procedure
you should be able to use the .trx file for the recovery.
Once you can get back into the GUI - I would re-enter
everything from scratch instead of using a backup file.

Can I upgrade the firmware using mtd and get all the settings back to default? Also the rest button does not work, right?

I would not mess with the mtd command myself.
Never had to use it, always able to recover via TFTP.
Right, the reset button does not work in Gargoyle.
As long as you can get DD-WRT or Linksys firmware back on it,
then you could hard reset the device, then re-flash back
to Gargoyle and start from scratch.
Try TFTP recovery first if at all possible.

Actually, using mtd is really easy.
Just upload the trx file, and then run:
Code: Select all
mtd -r write my_firmware.trx linux
