Hi.I just want to build an image with my needed packages without unusable packages.I provided the prerequisites and I used make custom command. I entered to config menu and encounter huge amount of configs which takes all my life to learn all of them

.Could anyone give me a little instruction on how I can just select packages I need and build an image file?
Thanks

No answer?OK no problem.
Could anyone tell me about below options of choosing a package in make custom configuration menu:
Code: Select all
[*] build-in
[]excluded
<M> module
<> module capable
[/size]
What is difference between module and built-in?

I think you will get better support for custom builds at OpenWRT

I tried to do my own adding nodogsplash to 841nd but no luck, so i moved to openwrt for that. But i found out how easily add chan 12 and 13 for not-us users. That's a different beast.
And i'd appreciate if you write a small, detailed howto about make custom, so if you try keep us informed about progress and results

Ok.I just want to build an image for tplinkwr841/741 with needed packages.I exclude packages and also modules (Which I don't understand difference between them exactly)which I guess are not necessary for me in hope to get a smaller image using make custom after providing prerequisites all know about that(git clone , blah blah blah).
I use ubuntu14.04 in virtual box.
My first of attempt of make was failed because of low disk space.
I modified vdi size and try again.after couple of hours it failed because an url was not found.
Code: Select all
Download failed.

Either website was down when your build occurred.
Or
Try this.

Yes the website was down and I saw the thindot.blogspot.com solution but there were no gcc version 4.5.x but newer version which I select and again the previous error occurred.I will test other version option tomorrow. But is there a way not to start all the make procedure from first but from the failing point?I noticed that I could save config file and load that later but making procedure start from first.
If this would be possible making process become much more easy and time saving.
