Hello,

I have 3 rules (upload QOS) based on Connection bytes in my WDR3600, v1.71
The goal is to give priority to short connections.
But when I look to the Current connections in the router, the QOS classes doesn't seem to be right:
why is the 1st connection set to 'cap"' and not to 'fast' ?
Why is the 3rd not set to 'fast' ?

I have the similar rules for the download QOS and they work.

It might help to see the definition of your QoS (Upload) Service Classes.

Connection bytes refers to the number of bytes transferred through the connection. A connection consists of an upload and download flow.

Since the download flow of your connection has more than 4096k bytes the connection has more than 4096k bytes and your upload rule is matched.

If I understand it correctly - you are doing it right already! Just that the Download is trumping your upload rule on your first example ...

Connection (384+14620) > 4096 therefore Upload Cap rule is matched. It would also have matched if a user uploaded a large file (to your question).

I do not understand (yet) why this shows NA. By pbix post is seems to me that this should also show Up=Cap and Down=Fast? Some quirk of udp or that upload=0k?

The third connection shows flows between the router and a WAN address.

QoS rules do not match such flows. Only flows between addresses on your LAN and WAN addresses can be matched.

There is no way to specifically detect large files being uploaded. What you have done is the best that can be done IMHO.
