client+ap drop back mode

Hello All, I have been using Gargoyle as a wifi client+ap for that past month and am very very happy.
One issue that I have found is, if the Internet ap (wifi) that the gargoyle client is connected to goes away, them the gargoyle ap (with its different subnet wifi) also goes away. It all hooks back up again when the Internet ap comes back.
As I am providing capabilities to people traveling to third world countries, Internet ap connections can be flakey but it is important the the hosts connected to the gargoyle ap remain able to talk to each other.
What would be ideal is to allow gargoyle to 'drop back' into stand alone 'ap' mode if the gargoyle client drops.
