Hi @ All,

now that Backfire 10.03 is officially released the question arise when will Gargoyle ported to it ? I think a lot of people would like to know that.

Yes, this is a relatively high priority. Best guess right now: sometime in June.

Backfire fixes the problem with dd-wrt micro redboot so you wont need to use the old redboot's anymore.

First of all, thank you Eric for porting gargoyle on backfire. I guess it's not done completely but most of the work seems to be done. I have been able to successfully build gargoyle on top of backfire from the svn source for brcm target. I just installed it on my Linksys WRT54GL device and it's working - I have been able to open the gargoyle web page and can set password etc from web interface - through testing is yet to be done. I will try the atheros build as well and let you know my findings.

Here is the gargoyle running on my WRT device -

To make it compile for brcm I had to change modify a patch files. This is not really a solution, kind of work around you can say. Here is the error and fixes -

I am quite new to gargoyle and hence not sure why this miniupnpd is not been copied to target rootfs, may be a build issue - please let me know if you guys feel that I am missing anything. Anyway, to get rid of this I modified patches-generic-backfire/06-img_mk.patch file and commented 'miniupnpd disable', 'qos_gargoyle disable' and 'webmon_gargoyle disable' commands. I commented 'chmod ntpclient' command also.

Thanks very much for your post. I have a Comtrend CT-5361 (Brcm63xx), follow this link to see its specs:

with openwrt-96348GW-squashfs-bc300-cfe.bin Open-wrt firmware (backfire 1.3) working fine. However, I would like to install gargoyle because I get lost myself in the configuration UI of Openwrt. I mostly want this working, in order to use WPA2-AES AP-WDS mode....
I found this binary files:

and worked, however, I dint get the WDS working. I would like to ask you which are the steps to upgrade open Openwrt backfire UI to Gargoyle trough SSH.
