Tp link wdr3600 losing packets

Hi,
I installed gargoyle v1.61 on my wdr3600. I am using it as a client bridge to my asus rt-n66u. The problem I am finding is that the connection is very unstable.
When I continuously ping my router from my PC for a period of time, I am consistently suffering packet loss of around 10% to 15%.
Anyone know how I can diagnose this problem?
