network connection with no connection

Home network connection with no connection - IP address related? My home network says I have little or no connection because my IP address is not updated. I click on repair, but it says it cannot fix the problem and to contact my network administrator. It is a home network, so that would be me and I don't know what to do. The name of my network is not coming up either. Would appreciate any suggestions you may have.
