This is my settings for the main router(Linksys WRT300N.V2):
IP Address: 192.168.1.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP Server: Enabled
Start IP Address: 192.168.1.2
End IP Address: 192.168.1.52
Static DNS 1: 8.8.8.8
Static DNS 2: 8.8.4.4

and this is my settings for the secondary router running Gargoyle 1.61(TP-Link WR741ND ver4):
Bridge IP: 192.168.1.10
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
AP/Gateway IP: 192.168.1.1
DNS Servers: Use Gateway as DNS Server

I broadcast it under a different name at the moment for testing purposes, I was able to connect to the network and access the router(the one running gargoyle), but I can't connect to the internet. Please help! Thank you :)

Which setting have you chosen in Gargoyle (Connection > Basic)? Wireless Bridge/Repeater?

Anyway, you should put Gargoyle router to IP above 192.168.1.52.

Yes, I'm using Wireless Bridge/Repeater. Repeater enabled, scanned for my wifi and everything. I changed the bridge IP to 192.168.1.100 now, still not working. Any idea?

Are you using WDS or client bridge?

Please check if you can you ping 192.168.1.1, when you are connected to second router, so we see if connection is okay.

this configuration should go "Client Mode + AP mode"

(It is very important that your gargoyle router has a different subnet address from the DSL router) :geek:

Hello

I am just curious why the bridge repeater mode does not work with the 1043ND V2.
I use a Gargoyle V1.7.x July 2015 build and had never success with the bridged repeater mode. All clients connecting to Gargoyle router never got an IP adress assigned!

BUT I must say the the normal client mode with extra adress room as described above works!!

So, is this bridge repeater mode totally broken or may it be that it only works if WLAN security is very low: aka none or WPA1 or WEP?

thank you very much for helping me here since I spend hours and hours on this issue now. ;)

Hello to the Gargoyle community! Good to be here.

I have a TD-W9980 as a main router and I am using Gargoyle on a Tp-Link wa830RE (which was total crap with lots of disconnections until I installed Gargoyle on it). I use the wa830RE to wirelessly connect to the TD-W9980 and expand the wifi signal. I am using the same SSID on both so I can seamlessly walk through the house and be on the same network.

So you are suggesting that the Gargoyle router should be on a different subnet? The Gargoyle page where you set it up as a wireless repeater suggests that the Bridge IP must be in AP's subnet and the subnet mask to be the same as the AP mask.

My settings are as the attached pictures. Everything seem to be working fine except some disconnections from the Gargoyle (wa830re) router sometimes and especially when I try to connect to the management page via my smartphone's browser.
