1.6.1 Uci editing not saved

Hello, iam using TL-WR1043ND v2.1 with gargoyle 1.6.1
it worked without any problem when i first flashed it.
Now, after i downloaded themes and rebooted the router i can no longer save uci edits when i press Esc...
Ps : i know ctrl+w saves the line but pressing esc isnt functioning
Used putty to perform above
