Unknown IP on "Active Connections" - ISP's DHCP Server?

I've used routers with alternative firmware (mostly dd-wrt) on my home network for years, but am brand new to Gargoyle (1.6.0)

When I look at the Connected Hosts page, I see one strange entry:

hostname: (unknown)
host ip: 142.254.204.93 (owned by Time Warner Cable, my ISP)
host mac: unknown
Active TCP Cxns: 0
Recent TCP Cxns: 0
UDP Cxns: 1

I sort of got nervous to see a non-local IP active on my router.

Looking further at "Connection List" (current connections), I see:

udp
from: 142.254.204.93:67
to: 255.255.255.255:68

which I suppose is the 1 UDP connection listed.

I did a little searching, and it appears that this describes the DHCP protocol where my router would pull an IP address from Time Warner, as described here:

http://www.linklogger.com/UDP67_68.htm

Is this expected? I've searched the forum, and found several "what is this address doing here" threads. None of the ones I found had any clear answer.

Just noticed this for the first time this morning too. Mine shows 142.254.179.173 which is Time-Warner Cable, connecting to 255.255.255.255:67 which is DHCP so I hope you're right. Since the Heartbleed bug became knowledge I've been feeling a little insecure.

Have you find a solution for this problem? I have opened a forum with this same problem.

Thanks
