Gargoyle install on tp link wr710n

Hi All,
I have been trying to install gargoyle on my tp link wr710n. Unfortunately my router is not supported but the wr703n router is (which is basically the same exact hardware, see http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr710n).
Since the hardware is basically the same I am attempting to flash the wr703n file but I keep getting an error while doing a firmware upgrade where I get "Error code: 18005, Upgrade unsuccessfully because the version of the upgraded file was incorrect. Please check the file name."
I know the version number can be changed but I'm not sure about the line. I attempted to hexedit the version number but that didn't work and I keep getting the error mentioned above.
Does anyone have any clue where the version number is stored for the firmware file?
Thanks for all your help!
