[Solved] Wireless Bridge/Repeater does not pass DHCP
Posted: Fri Jan 17, 2014 2:21 am
I have a Tl-WDR4300 running Gargoyle 1.5.11
Everything works fine when the router is used as a Gateway.
I then set up the router to be used as a Wireless Repeater/Bridge. I connect as a client bridge.
Internet --> Gateway[WRT54GS DD-WRT] --> Bridge[WDR4300]
Gateways IP: 192.168.3.1
Bridge IP: 192.168.3.2
I can only connect to the bridge (gargoyle router) via ethernet and only if I set a static IP. The bridge is set to use the Gateway as the DNS server. When the computer is configured to use DHCP I do not get an IP address.
When connected to the bridge via ethernet I can ping the bridge but I cannot ping the gateway or anything else.
I can connect to the gateway via wifi but then I cannot ping the bridge.
The bridge is also supposed to have a wireless network (2 channels above the gateway) but there is no network. Even the wifi light on the device itself is dark. (I did make sure that the physical switch for the wifi is on).
I previously had OpenWRT 12.09 installed on this router and I was able to set up a bridge just like the one I described above, using all the same hardware.
So what is going on. Thanks for any help.
[Edit]
The gateway (the link sys wrt54gs) does not show the bridge (wdr4300) as a client. Also there is no security on either router.
