TP-LINK WR942ND - no internet

One of those situations where everything should work totally fine, but somehow it's not. :)

I have router TP-LINK WR942ND - similar to ver 941, but with USB port. I wanted to make out of it a home NAS hard drive - accesible both to mobile devices, smart tv, media player and PC. Unfortunately media server options on this unit are very poor so I decided to install other firmware.

I've tried open-wrt, dd-wrt and gargoyle (which due to clear and easy web gui I prefer the most) and everywhere I encounter the same problem - no access to the internet.

On the stock firmware everything works perfect, I plug in the ethernet cables, then quick setup and done. On the other hand - all WRTs can not connect.

I have DHCP connection - and status router page shows that it obtains the IP, sadly that's all - I can't visit any site, ping any ip outside my network, and when I click "check for update" on the router site - it says: can't connect.

What I've tried:
-switching MAC addresses, so none is used twice
-switching from DHCP to static, then input IP, subnet and gateway of my provider manually
-changing gateways, and subnet masks so they're different for WAN and LAN
-switching on and off router firewall
-changing router DNS to OpenDNS
-pluging provider's ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports instead of WAN - then I get internet, but can't access the router site, only reset to default settings helps then;

The same situation is on cable and wireless connection. Router's WAN led is blinking like it should. Currently I'm on the stock firmware, but in few hours I'm back to Gargoyle and will post here some screenshots.

Is there any possibility that my provider may be blocking linux-based routers?

are you sure wan ip is on different subnet than lan ip?

And there's the screens I promised. As you can see almost everything is set like on the org. firmware nevertheless there's no connection.

WAN IPs are different and that may be some clue - while connected to PC network card or router with stock firmware I get 192.168.10.182.
When there's linux based firmware it's 192.168.235.x. Setting it manuallly using static DNS to ...10.182 does not help.

Another clue is wrong time. I suspect that may collide with "checking payment" system at my provider. On the other hand in case of late payment or wrong MAC I get a default error site from my provider whenever I want to visit some website.
