Port Forwarding Not working

I recently replaced a DD-WRT router with a new Gargoyle Router. I copied verbatim the port fowarding rules from one device to another and also the same DHCP and static DHCP assignments. Here is my issue. I use a synology server as an openVPN server and a camera server. The internal server is address is 192.168.0.33 I have tried to use static dhcp assignments and manually assigning the IP so I don't believe this has any impact.

I am trying to forward ports 5000 and 5001 from the router to the synology IP address (192.168.0.33). I have put in the correct rules as shown below:

Description Protocol From Port To IP To Port Enabled
22030DSCAM Both 5001 192.168.0.33 5001
dscam5000 Both 5000 192.168.0.33 5000

I never get a response from any of the applications on the web when I try to connect from outside of the router. If I connect from the lan side of the router the syology server works fine, this in addition to the fact the dd-wrt worked fine with identical rules, leads me to believe there may be something amis with my port forwarding.

Any thoughts? Many thanks!

Have you tried to enter the port forwarding rules from within the Synology Diskstation configuration? In the router configuration you can detect the router (it will be detected as an Open-WRT router) and apply the rules you want to use.

I never got OpenVPN to work on my Diskstation. Instead I choose to use the Gargoyle OpenVPN server. This has been working fine for a month now!
