Quick-toggle Tor proxy?

Hello! I see Gargoyle has a Tor client feature in the latest version! Is there any way to quickly enable and disable the tor proxy on-the-fly?

I ask because I am in Canada, and I want to use USA Netflix. I've done it before with Tor - if I login to Netflix while on a Tor proxy (a specific Tor server in USA that i have manually selected ahead of time), and then start the streaming download, and then while it is downloading the stream, I use the Google Chrome Quick&Dirty Proxy Flipper to switch from the Tor proxy to no-proxy, the Netflix video finishes downloading the stream using MY bandwidth, not the Tor proxy server's bandwidth.

This way, I can watch USA Netflix movies in Canada, without crippling the Tor server's bandwidth! (Doesn't work on Hulu though, they keep a blacklist of all the Tor server IPs)

I would like to be able to do the same with my Western Digital Live TV Plus module, but there is no similar quick-and-dirty proxy switcher for it. Is there any way to do the same thing (quickly turn the Tor proxy on and off) using Gargoyle?

It would be easier for you to route your traffic through a US proxy server instead of TOR.

There are plenty of free proxy server or services around.

Would it? The last time I tried, I actually found it very hard to find any working free proxy servers. Most were port 80 http-only, some with 443 and other secure protocols, but I'm not sure that Netflix would work on those. Although it might? It is using a web UI, after all. But the actual streaming is done through Silverlight, which could use any port.

I did manage to find a site that listed open free proxies that worked on all ports, but they only lasted for about 10 minutes before they disconnected and no longer worked. You had to attach the list to software that would automatically switch the proxies for you.

There's nothing wrong with paid proxy services though. There really are no FREE services out there worth trusting. Im using http://www.unotelly.com and it serves me just fine ! Anybody else had any experiences with these guys ?
