Hello

I have a TP-Link 1043nd v1.6 (my S/N don't start at 12) and I didn't find much information about how this version combines with Gargoyle. I live in Brazil and maybe this version was only shipped for my region.

I have a no issues installation of DD-WRT but almost everyone is saying that QOS of Gargoyle is way better. Is that infomation still valid? Qos is the reason why I went for the firmware upgrade in the first place. In DD-WRT I`m using HTB with FQ_CODEL. I play with professional gamers and I must say it REALLY improves the bullet registry.

What version should I install and what steps I need to peform? (at least a version that should not brick my router)
Can I flash it direct in the DD-WRT web firmware upgrade?
Need to download the upgrade or factory file? German FW first?

Many Thanks

Looks like v1.6 should be fine - no special upgrading needed

gargoyle_1.5.10-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr1043nd-v1-squashfs-factory.bin
gargoyle_1.5.10-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr1043nd-v1-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin

Those would be the files you would need to flash

factory.bin is used to flash from TP-Link firmware

If you are running DD-WRT firmware now, you should be able to use
the sysupgrade.bin file right from the DD-WRT GUI

Just go in DD-WRT GUI - goto firmware upgrade, and choose
the sysupgrade file

Before flashing from DD-WRT to Gargoyle - I recommend doing a
reset to defaults in DD-WRT - then upgrade to Gargoyle

Once you upgrade and see the Gargoyle GUI - the default
password is "password" (no quotes) and it will ask you to change it
