				Hi ,
Can someone tell me if Gargoyle could be installed over existing installation of OpenWRT. I have seen a similar thread, which says it can be done. However my question is , can gargoyle be installed over any version of OpenWRT or can it be installed only over specific builds of OpenWRT?
Thanks,
Nikhil

This where I found a thread that says that Gargoyle could be installed over OpenWRT under certain conditions.
http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... f=5&t=2543
My router is TP-LINK TL-WDR4300, I am not sure if the same can be done for my router.
Currently I don't know which version of OpenWRT is installed on the TP-LINK router. I need to hook up the router to find it, as I am not currently using it. My question is on the TL-WDR4300 router can I install gargoyle over any version of OpenWRT.

Your router requires at least r32683:
http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wdr4300
Backfire was many revisions ago:
http://wiki.openwrt.org/about/history
and is not supported on your router. If you had some ancient Linksys Wrt54g, then it might be possible, but it isn't for your router.

You can do a clean install of Gargoyle on that router, although it will wipe the existing OpenWrt installation. It's unclear to me exactly what you're trying to accomplish, but if you just want Gargoyle, this would do the trick.
