Wireless Channel (5GHz) woes...

Hello

I apparently don't know what I'm doing, because everytime I chose a channel higher than the lowest channel for the 5GHz transmitter, the signal apparently vanishes - my computer cant see it anymore.

This happens no matter which channel width I use, be it 20 or one of the 40 MHz.

Is there something I don't know about? Is there some standard I'm breaking by picking a channel other than the lowest one?

This happens on both a WNDR3700v1 and a v2 (with 1.5.10)

HELP! ^^

some of the 5GHz channels are country dependent; others require scanning for competing weather dopler radar & disable the channel.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels

It may be that your router is using US regulatory frequencies & your adapter is using local frequencies.

Aha! Thank you mate.

I settled on 48 which is allowed in Europe.
Any idea why I can't select a channel like 64? It should be allowed here.

Read this thread and apply the mod

This works on Gargoyle 1.5.10 (tested it myself)

Once you apply these and reboot the router, you should be able
to choose the channels/frequencies your country allows
