TP LINK WDR3600 video stuttering on local streaming

I just bought this new router and installed gargoyle 1.5.10 right out of the box. I keep having issue of video streamed locally between 2 PC at about 4-5mbit/s stuttering. I switched back to my old router and it streamed fine. Is there anyway to find and solve what the problem is? I am thinking to switch back to stock firmware.

No, it is off.

And this is all wired by the way.

It seems the stuttering doesn't happen all the time. I tried to watch 14-15mbit/s video and over a 2hours video, the stutter happened in like 3-5 places. Replaying the video at 1 certain place, the stutter occurred again. So I switched to stock firmware and the video hasn't stuttered so far.

what are the specs for your router?

I wonder if gargoyle has too much overhead for lower spec routers?

Here is the spec:
http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wdr3600

That might be possible. I did try a reboot the first time stuttering occurred then about 10-15mins later it happened again.

It appears to be a high spec router so I don't think that is the problem

After switching to stock firmware, I have watched a couple video for 4=5 hours with similar bitrates without any hiccup. Then I flashed it back to gargoyle and the problem occurred again within half hour. So, I might have to stick to stock firmware unless there is any suggestion or I will try again on next update.

It would be very helpful if you could do 1 more troubleshooting step:

http://downloads.openwrt.org/attitude_a ... x/generic/

Flash the official OpenWRT 12.09 release and try the same test

If the stuttering still occurs, it's an OpenWRT issue

If the stuttering does not occur, it may be something in the QoS
or some other Gargoyle setting that is causing the issue.
