Hi,

Does gargoyle support the g604t at all? I have found installation instructions at http://oldwiki.openwrt.org/OpenWrtDocs( ... G604T.html but it references bugs that were fixed 2 years ago.

Does anyone know of updated installation instructions for it? I would like to get gargoyle on for ease of use.

Most routers with DSL modem capability don't get supported.

I know that's a certainty (currently) with DD-WRT.

Not sure if Eric wants to get into supporting those either.

Looks like it needs the 2.6 kernel build of OpenWRT and a lot of
manual work by the user as well.

I'm pretty sure Gargoyle is still using the stable 2.4 kernel trunk,
unless I'm wrong on that.

So... short answer, I wouldn't try it unless its a device you can
afford to not use anymore :P

The problem isn't the 2.6 kernel... while the broadcom versions of Gargoyle are locked to the 2.4 kernel (because of the [INSERT LONG STRING OF PROFANITY HERE] proprietary wireless driver this version depends on), the others use the 2.6 kernel.

It looks like that device uses a wireless driver, that isn't currently supported in the GUI. Dealing with wireless issues is a serious pain, and the more wireless drivers I support, the harder maintenance gets.

So, for that reason it probably won't be supported any time soon. However, if you want to try to compile gargoyle for this device, go ahead -- I'd be interested in your results if you decide to tinker with it.
