Opinions on my QOS setup?

Hello all,
I am interested in ideas or suggestion in the best way to setup QOS for house share. There are 4 rooms sharing the internetz. I have allocated each room 25%, so regardless of how many pcs they have connected they get 25% at capacity. Check the images. If there is a better way, I would like suggestions thanks!

This looks good. Of course you must go to the Connections->DHCP page and lock the MAC address of the computers to the IP addresses you show.
Add another class for visitors and make that the default class. Any IP not in your list then falls into the visitor class.
Set the Total download bandwidth.
The above must be repeated on the QoS Upload screen as well but using source IP there. Also enter only 95% of your upload bandwidth in the total upload bandwidth field there.
Finally you should enable the ACC and observe that it throttles the link appropriately in the ACTIVE mode.
Should be a nice setup. Let us know how it works for you.

Hi,
Iam a new user of gargoyle firmware and after read much of the information available in this forum i installed it in my tp link WR941ND.
At this moment i will configure my QOS and after see this post i have the following doubt;
Why the user have for the several rooms defined more than one static IP?
For example, in my case, i have 3 computers in my network and i defined in DHCP one static IP for each. After that i configured QOS download and upload like mentioned, assigning differents bandwith according my goals.
I would like to know if my configuration have some wrong?
Best regards

pbix,
Thanks! I am getting close! I have set it up the way you said. There is still one user, that manages to kill all the bandwidth for the other users. When he is on, the other users get 0.06 mb/s and when I block the user, they get 2.0 mb/s.
I didnt do the initial test with the QOS turned off however, so I will do that again. And make sure ACC is on.
One last question, If i get a download test of say 3.0 mb/s, should i be entering into QOS Download "total download bandwidth" should be 3000 kb/s x 8, making it 24000 kbit/s ?
EDIT
What % should the default class be? that one will be for me actually as I will be the only other IP on the system
Also, the download tests, depending on the time of day can vary from 2.0 to 6.0 mb/s will ACC accommodate for this?
Thanks pbix!

The ACC is generally the cure for this type of problem. If the ACC is on and this is happening then post screen shots of both your upload and download QoS screens which were captured while the problem is happening.

If your maximum download speed is 6mbps then that is what you should use. The ACC sole purpose in life is to track your speed and make your QoS work in all cases.
The key will be to make sure that your pinglimits are correct. ACC automatically calculates them but the algorithm sometimes does not work so well. You need to verify that it is working correctly.
What about your upload speed? It is also important to know. For now enter 80% of the minimum upload speed you get. Once everything is working right you can increase this to 95% of the minimum upload speed you ever see.

You make the rules. Its up to you.
