OpenWRT on my router?

How can i put OpenWRT on my router? I have a d-link dsl-g604t wireless adsl router with xtra firmware that wont let me use it with another isp. I was going to get the original firmware, but decided openwrt would be bettter. How can i load the firmware onto it? I'm running windows 7
