"incorrect password" lockout on admin panel
Posted: Wed Feb 13, 2013 4:09 am
Hi
I just installed gargoyle_1.5.9-ar71xx-generic-wndr3800-squashfs-factory.img on my brand new Netgear WNDR3800.
It worked nicely for a few hours, but now it just says "invalid password" while trying to log into the admin panel.
I tried the following:
1. Set IP to 192.168.1.2
2. C:/Users\Jess\Downloads>PING 192.168.1.1

Help please.
I installed it via a network cable via firefox on Windows 7. I have a vague memory of it eorking like this:
1. Set up, work nicely
2. Set new password, copy and paste into notepad
3. Log back in later and get "invalid password"
4. Copy and paste from notepad- success!
5. Open admin panel from a second computer. Try password, fail. Try again, fail.
6. "hmm maybe it won't log in because it's still logged in at computer #1
7. Log out of computer #1. #2 still won't log in and now #1 won't log in either.
help please
edit: tried turning off the router for 20 seconds and on again. no change. If it helps:
