I am so frustrated at this moment as im trying to get the Gargoyle firmware on my ENGENIUS ecb3500 and cant seem to succeed in doing so. I am new to this whole preccess and im trying to follow the instructions but it just not happening for me.

Here is what i have done so far:
1. I have installed fon flash for windows "by the way im using win7" and

2. downloaded gargoyle_1.4.2-atheros-root.squashfs and gargoyle_1.4.2-atheros-vmlinux.lzma from the site. (NOT SURE IF THEY ARE THE RIGHT FILES BUT I THINK SO)

3. I also installed WinPcap_4_1_2

4. I made a crossover cable that run from the router to my computer (I also tried plugging it into a switch.

5. I use 192.168.0.1 as my LAN static IP. question. Does it matter what my router's default IP address is? mine is 192.168.1.1

6. I run fonFlash as administrator, select the network interface and input the gargoyle_1.4.2-atheros-root.squashfs file into the Rootfs and the gargoyle_1.4.2-atheros-vmlinux.lzma file into the Kernel File section.

I then click Flash now and plug in my router this is all I see

Reading image file C:\Users\OZZ\Downloads\GARGOYLE FILES\gargoyle_1.4.2-atheros-root.squashfs with 2883584 bytes, rounded to 0x002c0000

You can't flash this via Windows 7 due to the upgraded TCP/IP stack

Fon Flash works great on Windows XP, but not vista and Win 7

If you really want to use windows 7, you will have to put a switch
between your computer and the router

Computer -> Switch -> Router

If windows 7 does not detect network activity
(router rebooting, being powered on, etc) it turns off the ethernet

This causes the no response messages

The switch in between tricks windows 7 into thinking the ethernet
port is active and allows the flashing

By the way - not sure if Gargoyle will support the 600mw output
and it will also perform quite slow on a 180mhz processor

If you are going to try any version - try Gargoyle 1.2.5

I see you did try a switch - maybe its the IP...

Here's some logs for it on the OpenWRT wiki

http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/engenius/ebc3500

I think someone typed the wrong name

So I went ahead and partition my hard drive and loaded windows XP, fon flash and winpcap the process went a bit further than it did before but still stops shortly after it starts.

This is what it says:

Reading image file C:\Documents and Settings\J\Desktop\gargoyle_1.2.5-atheros-root.squashfs with 2883584 bytes, rounded to 0x002c0000
Reading image file C:\Documents and Settings\J\Desktop\gargoyle_1.2.5-atheros-vmlinux.lzma with 786432 bytes, rounded to 0x000c0000

Thats it. any ideas? I tried it with a regular cable as well as with a cross over cable. I used the file u recommended "gargoyle_1.2.5-atheros-root.squashfs and gargoyle_1.2.5-atheros-vmlinux.lzma"
I tried using a static ip of 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.1.2. Is there a specific Static IP i should be using

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG

Any Thoughts????
