Tried Gargoyle again on WNDR3700v1 still no 5GHz?

Title.. I gave Gargoyle yet several more months & I still do not have working 5GHz on WNDR3700v1 & i NEED both bands at once. The blue 5GHz led flashes once for half a second upon applying any wireless change then never comes on, the same problem that its been doing since the unit has ever been supported, the main router is a DIR-825 B1 & since that router is almost a clone of the Netgear its safe to assume it still does the same thing there too (did the last 2 times I tried).
Whats with this when will it be fixed already? DD-WRT is fine but their QoS.... im starting to give up on it. Tried erasing NVRAM etc did all those basic steps, 5GHz is just simply dead. I need 5GHz in client mode for my connection. OpenWRT has the same problem but since this IS OpenWRT with a better gui same thing in the code i guess..

I have a WNDR3700v1 and 5 Ghz works fine.
What channel are you using?
Due to the regulatory restrictions, only channel 36-46 are usable.
If you select any other channel, it behaves like you said.
The blue 5Ghz led flashes shortly, then goes off, since the driver disables itself, due to an invalid channel.

I tried every single channel with both upper & lower, tried 20MHz, nothing makes it work. Why is the driver limited to lower weaker TX channels (assuming I could get it to even turn on)? In Canada we are allowed beyond channel 149 etc, there isn't a regulatory domain setting in the firmware maybe that should be added..

It is working great for me. Gargoyle 1.5.9.
You might try a 30/30/30 reset?

Yes, 149-165 is also allowed I think.
Due to NetGear programming all devices with US country in the eprom, regulatory domain will always be US, with the channels allowed in the US.

Triple 30 reset don't work, after doing it it accepted my previous password and no settings were reverted to default & the reset button isnt broken cause it works with OpenWRT/DD-WRT. Its done this to me since the unit was ever supported by Gargoyle never once has it had 5GHz working, DIR-825 B1 does the same thing.

30-30-30 reset is a DD-WRT thing and usually only necessary
on Broadcom based devices (although some newer Broadcom devices
don't even recognize this either)
Does not work with Gargoyle / OpenWRT
You can try this command via Putty into the router:
firstboot && reboot
This should reset to defaults
You can read this page about programming buttons on the router:
http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/hardware.button
You could program a button to do a full reset but you have to do
this every time you reset the router as it will erase the config
that you created to program the button

I compile the latest OpenWRT trunks - almost every day
If then WNDR3700 users want to try OpenWRT with Luci GUI,
I can compile the image and post it up for you to try
This will be the very latest Trunk = Barrier Breaker
I've noticed VERY SOLID signal with OpenWRT Barrier Breaker
I also compile with the Ignore CRDA option so you can bypass
CRDA regs for testing purposes as well as force the 40mhz mode
Let me know if you want to test via PM

It reset, still no 5GHz. I sent a PM.
