I'm posting this in case it could help someone else and also to warn that taking a backup from one device and restore it to another could "brick" something !

I bought 2 routers :
*Netgear WNDR3800. Instructions I followed to flash : http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1893182
*TP-Link TL-WR1043ND v1.10. Instructions to flash : http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... =60#p16048

I set up the TL-WR1043ND. When finished, I backed up the the config.

And then setup up the WNDR3800 by restoring the config from the TL-WR1043ND.

Then the WNDR3800 rebooted and there was no more any network connectivity. The WAN light was solid green. The network link connecting to my computer was also solid green. But could not ping it even by assigning a static IP. I rebooted many time. Did a soft reset. Did a hard reset (30/30/30). Nothing ... The router was bricked.

The only way to return it to life was to flash it by TFTP with the method explained here : http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/netgear/wnd ... lsafe.mode

After that I manually configured the WNDR3800 and now eveything's working great. Thank you : Gargoyle is really great !

Gargoyle version 1.5.9

Never do this - ever - MAC addresses and other info are in the configs
