Can't fetch ip with TL-WR1043ND

I flashed 1.5.4/1.5.6/1.5.8 and 1.5.9 on my TL-WR1043ND router and it simply can't fetch an ip after the firmware is installed. I have it set on dhcp wired and it'll never connect, i tried ipconfig /release and /renew in command prompt and nothing happens. After i revert to the original firmware it connects instantly, any idea why this is happening?

I have a cable modem connected to my TP-Link WDR4300. One thing I had to do that you should also try (I had the same result as you). Is to power off the cable modem and the router. I then powered on the cable modem and then the router and all worked fine after that. You may have to leave them off for 5 minutes or so to ensure that the lease expires at the ISP head end.

Do you mean that the router cant get an ip address from your modem? if so read this thread http://gargoylerouter.com/phpbb/viewtop ... 03a2b99ec9 and follow the instructions. I think you need to load the german tp-link firmware first and then load gargoyle.

Works now, disconnected the cable modem for 5 minutes and was able to fetch a new ip.
