reliability of scheduled reboot feature

hello. Using a tp-link 1043nd and haven't upgraded to gargoyle as of this writing,
I was recently upgrading my router via dd-wrt to use the scheduled reboot option for a daily, well, scheduled reboot. I then realized that it wasn't working after a few days and the interface is a bit clunky for someone who uses a screen reader (synthasized speech that reads the computer to someone who is blind or visually impaired). So I'd like to upgrade to gargoyle. I have the goofy german firmware to fix the wan port issue. Anyway, sorry getting off topic. My question is, does the scheduled reboot work consistently aka when set to daily does it work on a daily basis? or does open-wrt have the same issue with not rebooting for a few days. any info is appreciated, thanks, dcb
