Increase wireless power in WNDR3700?

I have a v1 WNDR3700 and being based in the UK means that the 2.4 GHz power output can be set to a maximum of 17dBm in Gargoyle. I have been looking at increasing this to 27 dBm and although I have searched and searched and tried many of the things I've found, I can't seem to get it working.

Can any body point me in the right direction please?

Thank you.

Putty into the router

Type the command: iw list

Check what it says under Frequencies:

Those are the max power output values that the firmware manufacturer
allows for your router and the OpenWRT CRDA settings will follow that.

I tried compiling my own firmwares from OpenWRT with the option
to ignore CRDA regulations but I could not increase power output
past those reported values from the "iw list" command results.

I did notice that channel 14 is showing 27.0 dBm, but Gargoyle only allows me to select from channels 1-10, is there a reason behind this do you know?

Thanks again.

**Edit - I changed my channel width to 40 Mhz, second channel below and channel 14 is now available as is the 27dMb option.

I'll go and have a play...

Well, that didn't go to well, nothing can connect on channel 14

Looks like I'm stuck with the 17dBm on the WNDR3700 using Gargoyle..
